Wren Music is a Devon based arts organisation, and it is all about music and people.
The music is peoples’ music: folk music in all its manifestations: traditional, vernacular, popular and ethnic.
The people are all ages and abilities in a range of community and learning settings.
Our vision: A world where every voice is heard.
Our mission: Wren’s mission is to work with music and culture to inspire creativity and to celebrate identity and diversity.
Wren was founded as The Wren Trust in 1983, gaining charitable status in 1987. There was change of status to Company limited by Guarantee in 2009.
Our twin charitable objects are concerned with excellence in the minority genre of folk music and the promotion of social and musical inclusion.
Our programme holds these two ideas in balance from promotions of concerts and events featuring professional artists, an open access nonformal education programme of participatory musical ensembles for all ages, and targeted interventions with excluded groups.
